The Bluegrass Agritourism Association is an organization that was created to help promote the Agritourism venues in the Bluegrass Tourism Region. This region includes the counties of Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Harrison, Jessamine, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, Nicholas, Scott, and Woodford.
Agritourism covers a diversity of farming operations including on farm markets, U-Pick berries and vegetables, fiber operations, historic farms, riding stables and boarding operations, vineyards and wineries, overnight farm stays, and other agriculture endeavors.
Agritourism in the bluegrass offers an opportunity to build relationships between the agricultural community and the urban communities by being an education and destination location for tour groups, school children and civic events.
